DaSOS is an online forum for musicians, composers, improvisors, interpreters, musicologists, music journalists, and music curators planning on attending and participating in the next International Darmstadt Summer Courses. Our goal is to brainstorm, network, collaborate, plan, organize, and promote the activities in the Open Space forum well before the next edition.

Open Space is a free-form, self-produced performance and discussion space by sign-up that participants may use through their own choosing. These productions are often spontaneous, rehearsed, innovative, experimental, critical, and alternative. By organizing Open Space events for the future, we hope to create an opportunity for considered shifts in music practice, culture, and aesthetics with which we can return to our respective parts of the world while continuing to challenge and push musical ideas and boundaries.

Open Space has featured performances of new compositions, improvisations, chamber works and solo recitals, as well as lectures, presentations, and discussions provided by creative artists, scholars, journalists, and researchers. Join our mailing list and post in the blog (open to the public via email submission) to participate in and contribute to future Open Space activities including planning and networking with other musicians and thinkers who aim on attending the next summer festival in Darmstadt.
